I remember reading it YEARS ago then suddenly popping out from chapter 1 but since it had been so long I didn't remember most things to notice changes. Did I read a fan translation and then it was officially translated or something?

like yeah it's cliched and it was obvious it would happen as soon as he said "no way I'll ever leave my family!" but I don't really have a problem with that, a tragedy is narratively important to a hero's journey
