Found this through cat chan scans. Particularly enjoyed the first two and the last stories; wasn't too fond of the themes in the Frankenstein story.
It felt a bit strange, but it was an overall enjoyable read.
The final story truly stands out as a masterpiece. Each tale is intriguing and distinct in its own way. It might resonate differently depending on one's appreciation for this genre of psychological one-shots. Personally, I wasn't particularly fond of the ending in the plastic surgery narrative; it felt somewhat unrealistic. However, these stories break away from the typical, predictable plots we often encounter. Given their format as one-shots, they are fairly self-contained. There's minimal room for deep character development, with more focus on captivating concepts or themes related to humanity. This isn't a cheerful, uplifting collection by any means, but it has left a lasting impression on me that has endured for years.
