An average student at Hojo High School, she inadvertently upset Kai while working her summer job, resulting in her becoming Kai's Honey this semester. Initially, Yuzuru dislikes Kai due to his constant attempts to sexually harass her. However, she later discovers that Kai's behavior stems from his affection for her. Yuzuru's parents are extremely greedy and avaricious, and they live in poverty. Academically and athletically, Yuzuru struggles. Though she initially despises Kai, she eventually falls in love with him. Yuzuru harbors a fear of Chihaya ever since he once trespassed on her personal boundaries. Throughout the manga series, despite Chihaya's efforts to drive them apart, Yuzuru and Kai's love endures.
