When Nobara attempts to express her feelings for him, he responds that it wouldn't be fair to Satomi Abe. Shortly after, Yuushin and Nobara witness Satomi with another guy; she offers a weak apology to Yuushin. Prompted by Nobara, Yuushin later ends his relationship with Satomi. Both Kanako and Nobara have crushes on him, and Nobara surprisingly reveals this to Kanako just as Yuushin and his volleyball teammates emerge. Initially, he rejects her but eventually confesses his love for Nobara.
