Yuka had been taking advantage of Karin ever since they first met. Karin appreciated Yuka's friendship because she was the only one who would talk to her. Yuka depended on Karin for her grades and to copy her notes. She constantly mocked Karin for being unattractive and nerdy. Even when inviting her to a gokoun, Yuka grew jealous of Karin and spilled a drink on her new clothes. She enjoyed making Karin upset and became envious when Karin started dating Kiriya, going so far as to lock her on the school roof. Eventually, Ayase stood up for Karin, causing Yuka to back off, but Yuka still occasionally teases Karin, though not as frequently.
