One of the Hachiyō, he is the Seiryū of Heaven and also serves as a samurai for the Imperial court. Being from a lineage of esteemed samurai, Yorihisa has been practicing swordsmanship since childhood, earning him recognition as a formidable adversary. Yorihisa was raised by his elder brother, Sanehisa. Tragically, Sanehisa died while protecting a young lord during a mission. Yorihisa carries deep guilt over this loss, believing that Sanehisa sacrificed himself to save him. Driven by this remorse, Yorihisa takes his duty to protect the group very seriously, even willing to risk his own life for their safety. This protective instinct is particularly strong when it comes to Akane, towards whom he feels a profound sense of responsibility. In the anime, Akane harbors feelings for Akuram. However, in the manga, she falls in love with Yorihisa, and he ultimately returns with her to her world.
