sugimoto yasuko

Yasuko is a well-liked third-year student at Matsuoka Girls' High School. She is admired as a cool senior and serves as the captain of the basketball team, although Fumi initially mistakes her for a member of the Literature Club. Yasuko has a star-like reputation at both Matsuoka and Fujigaya, particularly at Fujigaya. She insists on bringing Fumi along during her visits to Akira's school. Initially, she wanted Fumi to take on the role of Heathcliff in a play due to their similar height, but Yasuko soon develops a deeper interest in Fumi. After visiting Fujigaya Girls Academy and turning down Kyouko's confession, Yasuko asks Fumi out, and Fumi accepts. Yasuko has a profound appreciation for the arts. She is an excellent artist, a skilled actor, and an avid reader. Her accomplished demeanor might stem from the subconscious influence of her childhood experiences. As the youngest Sugimoto sister, she often heard praises directed towards her older sisters Shinako, Kazusa, and Kuri. While Yasuko appears personable and likable in public, she can be unintentionally bratty and sullen at home, frequently clashing with her third eldest sister, Kuri, who often provokes her. Yasuko acknowledges that Fumi was a "rebound" from her unrequited love for Kagami, her sister's boyfriend, and apologizes to Fumi for using her as an emotional outlet. Yasuko ends her relationship with Fumi, stating that until she can become a better person, she does not want to be involved with anyone else. She graduates without Fumi's forgiveness and leaves to study in England, where she rooms with a fellow actress from Fujigaya's production of Wuthering Heights.
