Kudou is a classmate of Tsukasa. They are placed in the same group for the school's graduation trip, but Kudou is too intimidated by Ryuuji to attempt befriending her. Some time later, Kudou starts behaving more confidently and boldly towards Tsukasa and admits to liking "him." He used to wear thick glasses but stopped using them as part of his "makeover." He claims to "hate girls," considering them shallow and mean, so he has no qualms about dating Tsukasa, whom he believes is a boy.
This newfound confidence was triggered by Kudou taking the drug distributed by Garyukai. Tsukasa notices that the usually timid and unassuming Kudou becomes violent whenever he hears the name "Shirogami" and decides to pretend to date him to investigate further.
