The First Neck (Ichi no kubi), regarded as the leader and most formidable among the Orochi, is a character of considerable complexity. Tsubasa, a tall and teal-haired bishōnen, carries the dark past of a presumably sociopathic criminal with an extensive criminal record, beginning with the murder of his abusive father to safeguard his younger brother.
Additionally, Tsubasa holds the role of Sōma's biological older brother. He left Sōma under the care of the Ōgami family when he had to flee. Despite the other necks' failures in defeating Sōma, Tsubasa ultimately succeeded. However, Sōma retains only vague memories of him. When they first confront each other, Tsubasa hesitates to seriously harm his younger sibling; his primary focus lies on completely converting Sōma to the Orochi cause rather than eliminating the Priestesses.
