The Lunar Priestess; in stark contrast to Himeko, Chikane is a highly commanding girl of the same age. She exudes an air of nobility and elegance, residing in a grand mansion attended by numerous maids. At their school, she holds the highest status and garners a significant following from both boys and girls, often receiving love confessions. A member of the esteemed kyudo (Japanese archery) club, she frequently wields her bow as a weapon during confrontations with the Orochi. Besides being proficient in tennis, Chikane excels notably in playing the piano, often performing for Himeko, who delights in listening. Many at school speculate about a relationship between her and Sōma, but this is later disproven.
Chikane has harbored feelings for Himeko since their first encounter, though she conceals these emotions until much later. Eventually, she seems to "turn evil," defeating all but two of the other Orochi heads and taking their place. This transformation follows an attack on Himeko that includes a sexual assault, aimed at making Himeko despise her. However, the reasons behind her actions are more intricate than they initially appear. Chikane bears the lunar symbol on her back.
