Tsubasa is a transfer student from Asashiro Junior High who scored highly on the entrance exams and is known for his high IQ. Despite his small stature and feminine appearance, which often leads people to mistake him for a girl, Tsubasa is far from sweet and cute. He is arrogant, blunt, sarcastic, and fierce. Tsubasa believes he is a genius and claims that soccer comes naturally to him, making him unbeatable. Although slightly taller than Shō, he doesn't let his height hinder him and excels as both a fighter and a leader. His looks and attitude have earned him both enemies and devoted fans. Initially, third-year students Naoki Inoue and Gosuke Hata, along with their friends, were his adversaries. However, after Tsubasa saved them from a group of bully truck drivers, they recognized their similarities and decided to follow him. Later, he became the captain of the Hiba Soccer Varsity team, wearing the number 4 jersey.
During the Senbatsu Training Camp, Tsubasa grows closer to Shō and gains a deeper understanding of him. He earns a spot as a regular defender on the Junior Senbatsu Team.
