Touya is a vampire whom Chiyuki encounters. Although Touya tells Chiyuki that he despises blood, Yamimaru informs Chiyuki that, like any other vampire, Touya does enjoy blood but chooses not to drink it because he doesn't want to be a burden on others. He can venture out during daylight hours but still avoids garlic. Since he abstains from consuming blood, he has become anemic and often collapses when he's hungry, unable to move until his bat, Yamimaru, comes to assist him.
The primary reason Touya avoids seeking a partner is his kind-hearted nature; he wouldn't want to impose eternal life on anyone, viewing it more as a curse than a blessing. He frequently pretends to be tough, but in reality, he's quite the opposite. He strongly dislikes Satsuki, though, as Yamimaru points out, this is merely jealousy stemming from how close Chiyuki and Satsuki have become. Touya cares deeply for Chiyuki, more than anyone else.
