The track captain when Yamato first joined the team competes in shot put and is often seen putting Yamato in a headlock or making him do extra training. He holds high expectations for Yamato, so much so that during tournaments, he can't watch Yamato run and hides behind a tree instead. Although he has graduated and now attends Seijo University, he still checks on the high school track team, much to Yamato's displeasure. Upon learning of Yamato and Suzuka's recommendations, he offered to show them around the campus.
He was at a rookie track meet supporting his former high school when he overheard Yamato tell Suzuka that she would see him win at the college level. This led him to put Yamato in a headlock and promise to personally train him before the academic term began. During these training sessions, Yamato became distracted. To refocus him, he invited Yamato out to eat, arranging for Souichi and Arima to join them, hoping that seeing Arima would reignite Yamato's competitive spirit.
He expressed disappointment that Yamato hadn't discussed his situation with him. He emphasized that if Yamato chose to drop out of Seijo University, it could mean that the university would no longer accept members from their high school for future selections. After witnessing Yamato and Suzuka apologize to the track club, he voiced his support for their decision.
