Fuuka is the daughter of Suzuka and Yamato from the prequel Suzuka. Fuuka is an energetic girl who tends to get angry quickly but is also willing to admit her mistakes and is generally easygoing and friendly. Her sincere personality inspires others and draws people towards her. Her age is unknown but estimated around 15, as she is still in her first year of high school (she and Yuu are both in class 1-A).
Despite her generally upbeat demeanor, she occasionally feels a sense of frustration, as if something is missing in her life. Although her parents are top athletes, she shows little interest in track and field. She did participate in it during middle school but found it unsatisfying for her emotional needs. Nachi, a member of the track and field team, frequently tries to convince her to join.
In chapter 6, after discussing Fuuka's frustrations with Mikasa, Yuu talks with Fuuka about it. While visiting the shrine her parents frequented in Suzuka, she tells him that listening to music usually alleviates her feelings of frustration. Yuu suggests that she try making music if it brings her comfort. Inspired by this suggestion, Fuuka decides to pursue music seriously. At that moment, Yuu sees a vision of "great wings of light" springing from Fuuka’s back.
In chapter 36, Fuuka gets into a car accident while picking up her dropped cellphone strap. It is confirmed in chapter 37 that she has died.
In the anime adaptation, Fuuka narrowly survives being hit by a truck. This near-death experience, combined with her growing feelings for Yuu, leads her to quit the band and consider a solo career. However, after admitting her feelings for Yuu, she finds the strength to return to the band.
