Taranda Lieselotte Tachibana, known as Lise, is a young girl employed at Nakamachi Circus as an animal handler. Hailing from a lineage of animal tamers, she tamed the lion "Drum" in the manga to hunt down the man-eating tiger "Beast," which had killed her sister during a performance.

In the anime, she is already depicted as a member of the Nakamachi Circus without disclosing her background or expertise as a tamer. In contrast, the manga introduces her for the first time when she confronts the escaped tiger Beast. It appears that Lise has a crush on Masaru Saiga.
