An IJN Lieutenant Commander, his courier plane was shot down during the Battle of Midway and he was rescued by Kadomatsu. He views his encounter with the Mirai as a chance to alter history for what he believes is "better." From his perspective, he rejects both the militarism of the Japanese Empire and the shame of defeat that characterizes postwar Japan. Instead, he aims to establish a new undefeated Japan, which he names Zipang. While he respects Kadomatsu's humanism, he considers it an unaffordable luxury in times of war. He is prepared to sacrifice much bloodshed to achieve his vision.
