He tends to act hastily when it comes to his emotions and perceptions, but he tries to make amends afterwards. At the beginning of the series, Momoshiro sees himself as a Singles player and gets into a slight argument with Echizen over who would get Singles Three. However, to his surprise, he finds himself paired with Echizen, leading them to develop the 'ah-un' strategy. Momoshiro then starts functioning more as a doubles player, especially during the Hyotei-Seigaku match when he had to replace Oishi against Oshitari and Gakuto. The last Singles match he played in the anime was against Oshitari, where he lost after getting hit by a pole. Despite his impulsive thinking, Momoshiro is noted by one of the players during the Nationals Tournament as the Trickster of Seigaku. His play has advanced so well that he subconsciously created his own version of Insight, though not quite on par with Atobe's. At the end of the series and manga, Momoshiro is seen as the new vice captain while Kaidoh takes on the role of captain.
