Takeshi is Ryo's father. He works as a police officer and is extremely disciplined in everything he does, holding the belief that "men must be manly" and should not show interest in "feminine" things such as cute or delicate items. He often struggles to connect with his daughter but puts significant effort into raising her. He teaches her various forms of martial arts so she can protect herself. Initially, Takeshi is dismissive of Asuka, but over time, he begins to warm up to him. Eventually, he even comes to accept that Asuka will "marry into his family," thinking to himself that Asuka "will make a good bride" for Ryo.
