Steak is Niche's "pet" and emergency food supply. He joined her after she dismantled the Love Someone Down freak show, following her ever since. Typically, he can be found riding on her head, seldom moving from this spot even during her battles with Gaichuu. Steak has the unique ability to detect the weak points of Gaichuu, which allows Lag to target these spots with his Shin Ganjuu, effectively killing the armored insects.
Niche has commented that Steak would be delicious, explaining his name. Steak appears to have come to terms with his eventual fate as a meal and seems to have resigned himself meekly to Niche's (interrupted) attempt to cook him.
Steak might be the last surviving member of the Kapel Meister, a species that once lived in harmony with the Spirit Insects and was believed to be extinct.
