A mysterious figure endowed with a fearsome power, Skurai wields the demonic blade Talatsu—also known as Tartanos or Talefing in various iterations of the series. This weapon siphons the blood of its victims, absorbing their memories in the process. As stated by Skurai in volume 10, Talatsu also acquires the combat techniques of those it drains. Under the guidance of the Beholders, Skurai descended upon Fayon during an assault by Sara Irine and mercilessly slaughtered all non-combatant villagers, including Iris's mother. He then journeyed to the Assassin's Guild, eliminating every assassin there before framing Chaos for the carnage. Driven by his quest to obtain Chaos's blood, Skurai believes it holds the key to fully quenching Talatsu's thirst and liberating his soul from the demon's grip. His dark past conceals a harrowing tragedy: once an honorable knight, he bartered his soul to Talatsu in a desperate bid to save his beloved, Princess Titania, who was ultimately slain by another demon disguised as a prince.
