Shizuka is a wealthy heiress and childhood friend of the F4. She shares a particularly close bond with Rui; she was the first person to coax him out of his shell, and they were nearly inseparable throughout their childhood. During her high school years, Shizuka embarked on a modeling career. However, at her twentieth birthday party, she stunned everyone by declaring her intention to abandon both her modeling career and her status as the Todo heiress in order to move to Paris and pursue a career as a human rights lawyer. In the drama, Shizuka served as the inspiration that encouraged Makino to enroll at Eitoku and later to aspire to a legal career.
Rui initially travels to Paris with Shizuka at Tsukushi's request, but their relationship becomes strained as Shizuka devotes more time to her work. Eventually, frustrated, Rui returns to Japan alone. Shizuka remains in Paris and eventually marries a lawyer there, presenting her bouquet to Tsukushi.
