Shino tries to capture Kazuki and add him to her collection, but her older brother, Dr. Akai, thwarts her efforts. She then becomes his assistant, though she continues to attempt to make Kazuki part of her collection for personal reasons.
Towards the end of the series, it is revealed that Shino, along with Karei, Kazuki's dorm manager, were in a similar situation to Yuna, Rin, and Kuriko. She earnestly tries to convince them that restoring Kazuki's body is futile. Shino is highly skilled with seals and excels in combat, surpassing both Kuriko and Rin. She does not harbor any hatred towards Kazuki; instead, she fears that tragedy will repeat itself if the girls continue pursuing their goal.
It is hinted that Shino has feelings for Kazuki, as her brother questions why she hesitates to add Kazuki to her collection, even though she could do so at any time. Additionally, it is suggested that Shino, her brother Dr. Akai, and Karei are somehow "ghosts." In episode 23, there is a flashback to Japan's Warring States period, where the Manager reminds her to "keep her promise," referring to an agreement made long ago.
In the final episode of the anime, one of the "Kazukis" visits her for a health checkup. At the end of the visit, she tells Kazuki about a "new bed" and invites him to come over whenever he wants, indicating that she is deeply in love with him, much like her brother is with Kaori Iba.
