Shato is an orphaned boy who mistook Mel for the Master Wizard. With both of his parents deceased, he was living with a kind woman who had taken him and several other orphaned children into her home. When she fell ill, he sought Mel's help, but there was nothing Mel could do. She eventually passed away, leaving Shato and the other children homeless.
Mel later reconnects with Shato and discovers that both he and the other children are doing well. Shato has become an apprentice and has been keeping track of the other children he used to live with.
