santana

He was discovered inside a Mexican pyramid in 1938. Upon his awakening, he was studied by a Nazi vampire research team based in an underground facility. Led by Major Stroheim, the team conducted live human experiments using the stone mask to enhance the Nazi forces. Santana was awakened in a high-security isolation room reinforced with steel plates, where behavioral studies were carried out on him. The researchers soon realized that Santana feeds on vampires and can absorb nutrients through his skin. The team was taken aback when Santana escaped from the isolation room. He broke many of his own bones to contort himself into the room's 4-by-20 cm ventilation outlet, moving at speeds imperceptible to the human eye. Despite being shot at with machine guns, Santana quickly learned their language and the workings of their weapons within minutes of contact. He effortlessly dealt with the Nazis who had disturbed his rest, surviving attacks, exposure to sunlight, and explosions. Named after the long-lived rock band Santana, he is the sole surviving member of the Pillar Men and is theoretically still alive throughout all story arcs. However, given his enhanced Ripple power, it's possible Joseph may have killed him upon returning to America.
