San is a powerful witch from a renowned family of successful sorcerers and witches. She is Forte's cousin and harbors romantic feelings for him, which he reciprocates. When she was young, her mother fell gravely ill, and relatives accused her of being cursed and the cause of her mother's illness. To help her mother recover, San always tried to smile, believing it would aid in her mother's healing. However, due to her perceived cursed status, her relatives shunned her. Only Forte approached her one day, becoming her first and best friend. He also became her partner for the Magical Exams. After Forte scolds their relatives for speaking poorly about San, he reassures her that it's okay to cry and promises to always stay by her side.

In the anime, Forte and San pass the Magical Exams together with everyone else, but in the manga, they pass the exams a year after Ichi and Zero. They also participate in the advanced Magical Exams exclusively for skilled sorcerers. Ten years after the main story, an arranged marriage between Forte and Rokka is set up by San and Forte's grandfather and Rokka's parents. San, who loves Forte, disrupts the engagement party.
