okudaira sakiko

Okudaira Sakiko is the mother of Akira and Shinobu. She has been long-time friends with Fumi's mother and the Manjoume family. Her friendship with Fumi's mother reignites when they move back, and she is thrilled to reconnect with her old friend. Sakiko shares a very close bond with both her children, often seen joking around and engaging in regular conversations with them. However, she can also be stern and blunt. Whenever Akira and Shinobu argue, one glare from her is enough to silence them. She frequently tells Shinobu to get a life and stop bothering Akira. Sakiko was considered the "outlaw" of the family by Keiko, her disapproving relative in Yokohama, whom she makes Akira visit.
