Prim and elegant, Sachiko has a rough side and a very sweet side. She is very protective over Yumi and cares deeply about her. However, Sachiko often faces the same issue as Yumi — she does not share most of her problems with her petite soeur, leading to many misunderstandings. Sachiko is set to marry her cousin and fiancé Suguru after she graduates. This situation has caused her distress because, although she initially cared deeply for him, he did not reciprocate these feelings. They now have a complicated relationship.
Sometimes, Yumi must teach Sachiko how to live more informally, such as helping her choose her first pair of jeans. Despite her sometimes stern appearance, Sachiko has her own insecurities regarding her relationship with Yumi, as well as emotional insecurities stemming from her home life; both her father and grandfather openly have mistresses, dividing their time between home and these relationships, which seems to have contributed to her general disdain for men, as shown in the OVA series during a meeting with the student council members of Hanadera, an all-boys high school.
After entering her third year, Sachiko becomes the new Rosa Chinensis. With the arrival of Touko, Sachiko spends more time with her than with Yumi, making Yumi jealous. Sachiko's absence from school worries Yumi. Later, Youko brings Yumi to Sachiko's grandmother's house. Yumi discovers that Sachiko's grandmother recently passed away, causing Sachiko to fall into depression. Sachiko apologizes for her behavior over the past few weeks and asks for Yumi's forgiveness; Yumi reassures her that she loves her very much.
At the beginning of the summer holidays, Sachiko takes Yumi to her summer home. There, Sachiko's acquaintances cause trouble for them. Yumi wants to leave, but Sachiko refuses. The acquaintances throw a party and invite them. At the party, they ask Yumi to play a musical instrument for Sachiko's great-grandmother. Yumi says she cannot play anything and prefers to sing the song "Maria-sama no Kokoro"; Sachiko accompanies her on the piano. The great-grandmother is delighted because the song evokes memories, and she asks Yumi to visit again next year.
In the first season, Sachiko is Rosa Chinensis en bouton, her grande soeur was Mizuno Youko, and her petite soeur is Fukuzawa Yumi.
In the second season, Sachiko becomes Rosa Chinensis.
