It is later revealed that she is pregnant with a human baby. Initially, she plans to experiment on the child to further her knowledge of humans. However, as the story progresses, she develops emotions—love, even—for her child and protects it until her last breath. She voluntarily gives her child to Shinichi after realizing what it means to be a mother and experience human emotions. She dies from multiple gunshots by Hirama and other investigators, although she could have survived if she had fled or protected herself.
