Tenjo is a forward from Kokubu Junior High School. His soccer style was notably independent and cold-hearted. His father, a prominent businessman, instilled in him the belief that he must seize power on his own, as no help would come from his family. Consequently, Tenjo aimed to be the best through individual effort and shunned teamwork. Despite his considerable strength, his lack of cooperation caused him to fail the qualifying tests for Musashinomori's soccer club, which only fueled his anger and bitterness. This failure occurred around the same time Tatsuya passed the tests but declined to join. However, a turning point came when Shō approached him after Josui defeated Kokubu in a challenging match. The only person Tenjo truly cared for was his nanny, Kazue. Her death left him contemplating quitting soccer, as he believed he played solely to see her smile. Without her, he saw no purpose in continuing. His situation worsened when Tsubasa Shiina, the leader of Hiba, taunted him after defeating his school in a game where Tenjo couldn't perform at his best due to his emotional state following Kazue's death. After playing mini-soccer with Shō and his friends against Tsubasa and his group, Tenjo realized his love for soccer and understood that Kazue would want him to continue pursuing his passion. He became a regular on the Junior Senbatsu Team. Later, he discovered that his mother hadn't abandoned him and learned he is half-German, with a younger sister. His mother invited him to live with them in Germany. With Shō's support, Tenjo accepted the invitation to move to Germany. Though he quit the Junior Senbatsu Team, he assured everyone that he wasn't giving up on soccer; he would simply be playing in Germany.
