Shinya's sole and true friend, Ryohei has been by Shinya's side since they were children. Ryohei stands as the complete opposite of Shinya; he is well-liked by everyone and excels in sports. In the story of ~Lacrima~, Ryohei harbored feelings for a classmate named Natsue. However, when the world government decreed that anyone connected to the Messiah must be killed, Natsue was shot three times. Ryohei's father, a doctor, did everything in his power to save her, but there was nothing more he could do. Overcome with grief, Ryohei pleaded with Shinya to call Haruna to heal Natsue, knowing that using her magic one more time would cost Haruna her life, Shinya refused to make the call. As Natsue's vital signs flatlined, Ryohei's Emperor power fully activated in a fit of rage towards Shinya. Ryohei possessed the "Guide To Domination" and wielded all the powers of the Emperor. Despite this, his deep friendship with Shinya initially prevented him from turning against him. However, after Shinya's intervention, Ryohei underwent a drastic change. Presently, he commands the White Sage, the Black Sage, the Frost Ogre, the Fire Lord, and the Wind Lord.
