Rue is a deeply complex character, challenging to fully understand. At the start of the story, her relationship with Myuuto seems to exist more out of habit than genuine affection. However, when Myuuto's heart is threatened to be taken away, Rue realizes that she truly does care for him. As she uncovers her own feelings, and as Myuuto grows closer to Princess Tutu, a different side of her emerges. In reality, this other side is Princess Kraehe, the daughter of the Raven. She is often told that only her father and the Prince can love her. In an attempt to find love and self-worth, she acts against Princess Tutu. Frequently, she complicates Ahiru's efforts to return pieces of Myuuto's heart. Other times, she kidnaps the Prince to set traps for Ahiru. Her actions are driven by a desire for validation; nonetheless, she is not a weak antagonist and poses a significant threat to the other characters. In the manga: Rue Kuroha is not the Raven's daughter. She is a regular school girl who is given a pendant that allows her to transform into Princess Kraehe. Similar to the anime, Rue harbors deep feelings for Myuuto. By the end of the manga, she and Ahiru become friends (and rivals in their pursuit of Myuuto's love).
