Rise Okitsu is a new student at the highly prestigious Jyoshioka Gakuen Private High School, formerly an all-girls institution. At the start of the story, she is in the commoner class but excels as the top student. She ends up hiding in a closet where Azusa Mizutani finds her while he is also trying to escape from a group of frenzied girls from the S-Class—the wealthiest class. To make the girls leave, Mizutani quickly decides to pretend to be Rise's boyfriend, making her the fake girlfriend of a very attractive and sought-after guy. This leads to significant bullying from other female students, hinting that she has faced similar situations before in middle school. After enduring constant bullying, Rise is transferred to the S-Class by Munechika, a disciplinary committee member with connections to influential people, and one of the few male students. Okitsu is generally perceived as a quiet girl, but around Mizutani and some of the other guys, her true personality emerges. She becomes easily flustered and can turn violent when upset, often times abusing Mizutani.
