Ren Maaka is the eldest of the Maaka siblings and has no reservations about drinking blood. He firmly believes that vampires are superior to humans. However, he exclusively targets female victims, often seducing them and spending several days with them before finishing his act. Ren refuses to drink male blood.

He views biting as a metaphor for sexual intercourse and frequently engages in both acts simultaneously. Ren often expresses frustration towards Karin due to her apparent lack of vampiric abilities and her friendly attitude towards humans. Although he listens to his father Henry, it is usually Anju who calms him down when he's annoyed or gently nudges him into specific actions. Ren harbors a deep fear of Elda, whose overly affectionate behavior during his childhood makes him flee at the mere sight or mention of her.
