Harumi is initially introduced in volume 2 as one of Karin's victims. Later, she is seen working at a love hotel, earning money by having men spend the night with her. Harumi had run away from home because of her intense dislike for her parents. Fumio Usui, who works at the love hotel as a cleaning lady, tries to persuade Harumi that her current lifestyle is wrong and that she should return to living at home. At first, Harumi refuses, but eventually, she decides to give it a try and reconciles with her parents.
