In 2032, an amnesiac without a name awakens in a world scarred by calamity: a devastating explosion known as the "Blaze" or the "Great Heat." The boy, unable to speak, faces a mysterious man with red eyes and wings. This man, simply called the Archangel, claims the boy is responsible for the world's current state. Handing him a peculiarly shaped gun, the Archangel directs him toward an ominous structure in the distance: the Neuro Tower. His directive is straightforward: journey to the tower's base to find salvation. Dextera starts his story overwhelmed by confusion, having lost his memories before the Great Heat. A deep desire to rid himself of a heavy sense of guilt drives him deeper into the Neuro Tower, though he does not know the origin of this guilt. His lack of knowledge about the present world makes Dextera somewhat naive, trusting almost everything the Archangel tells him without question. Even when the frustrated Archangel scolds him for failure, Dextera passively endures the verbal abuse and continues to seek comfort and guidance from him. Dextera was born one of a pair of conjoined twins sharing a single heart. Both were inducted into the Koriel faction of the Malkuth Order, Dextera as Number 12, and his older brother as Number 13. Dextera proved especially valuable to the Malkuth Order, showing wavelengths similar to those of the Absolute God at a young age. This allowed him to almost hear its voice. However, their shared heart could only support one twin being awake at a time, even with life support. As they grew, the heart could no longer sustain both bodies. To save at least one brother, the other had to be cut off, leading to his death. Number 13 selflessly volunteered to die so Number 12 could live. Number 12 protested vehemently, wishing to die alongside his brother, but was tranquilized early in his protest. When he awoke next, Number 12 was alone, marked only by a scar on his hip and a lingering sense of guilt that followed him into adulthood.
