Prince Hata is a squat, purple-skinned alien prince with a fondness for animals. Unfortunately, his affection is seldom returned, and one of his "pets" even bit off his antenna (which later grew back). He has an eccentric habit of collecting rare pets, but due to his incompetence in managing them, these creatures often wreak havoc in Edo. Known as "Baka Ouji" (Stupid Prince), he is recognized for his simple-mindedness and irresponsibility with his animal collection. He is a recurring character in the series. In the anime, his appearances are usually accompanied by a Swiss-inspired theme song. His appearance is reminiscent of the pink-colored Majin Buu from Dragon Ball.
