Orphaned at age eleven when her mother was executed for witchcraft during the Dark Ages of Europe, Pamela was raised by a dragon named Ash. He eventually became both her lover and tormentor. After Ash was murdered, he inadvertently granted Pamela immortality through a drop of his heart's blood, which left a mark on her forehead as he died in her arms. Failing repeatedly to end her life, she made a pact with Belus.
In exchange for gathering the beads of Berial’s necklace, he agreed to kill her. Centuries later, Pamela now runs the Tarot Café with wisdom and grace. She is kind yet stern with her numerous customers, especially those "special" ones. As she puts it, she doesn’t claim to predict the future but instead focuses on understanding her clients' motivations and issues deeply. Assisting her are extensive esoteric knowledge—especially identifying magical creatures—and her companion, Belus.
Pamela is a compassionate young woman who takes in Aaron, a young werewolf, after he seeks her for a tarot reading. However, she can be cynical about humanity, though not as much as Belus. Her relationship with Belus is complex; they seem to dislike each other and vehemently deny any romantic involvement. Yet, they tolerate one another and rely on each other for strength or direction.
