High school student. She is an ordinary, slightly unconfident girl who was transported to a strange world by a bomb explosion. Izark was the first person she met and taught her to speak his language. Noriko did not know that she was The Awakening, whom many countries sought after. Many neighboring countries believed capturing The Awakening would allow them to control the Sky Demon. Early in the story, Noriko falls in love with Izark. She promised him she would not leave and would always stay by his side.
She has a family of five back in Japan whom she misses a lot, which is why she does not talk about them much as thinking about them makes her sad. She has a brother two years older than her, a laid-back mother whom her brother resembles in attitude, a father who works as a writer, and a sweet grandfather whose head is always "up in the clouds." Her family used to have a dog but it died when she was ten years old. Her whole family was too devastated about its death that they couldn't bear to rear another animal again.
