Nobue is the eldest main character. She is Chika's older sister and usually has the final say on all matters. Nobue frequently attempts to "borrow" money from Chika to buy cigarettes. She is constantly looking for part-time jobs to fund her cigarette habit, which helps calm her nicotine addiction.
The story hints that Nobue finds some kind of sensual pleasure in watching the girls do cute things, indicating she appreciates the moe aesthetic. It is evident in the anime that Nobue prefers Matsuri and Ana over Chika and Miu.
The portrayal of Nobue differs between the manga and the anime. In the manga, she is a sixteen-year-old high school freshman, whereas in the anime, she is a twenty-year-old junior college student. Her age was likely changed due to her smoking and drinking habits, both of which become legal in Japan at the age of twenty. Although in the first episode of the anime, she initially introduces herself as sixteen, this is meant to be a joke as she quickly corrects herself, stating she is twenty.
In the manga, Nobue tends to act somewhat less mature, engaging in pranks such as tricking Matsuri into believing that Miu is dead. Her appearance also changes significantly in the early stages of the manga, particularly her hair color, which shifts from blond to dark brown (and is black in the anime).
