Nakua was originally a spider goddess who protected the city of Sasanaki. In ancient times, her followers offered human sacrifices to her, but this practice eventually ceased. She then relocated to Hiro's school, where she preyed on students drawn there by ghost stories.
Although Hime chose not to interfere with Nakua's activities, both Riza and Reiri decided to confront her and drive her away from Hiro's school. In retaliation, Nakua attempted to punish Hime and her servants by sending their villa into an Ice Age in the past, but she was ultimately defeated again.
After Hime assisted Nakua in defeating an evil god that had invaded her territory—Nakua being weakened from their previous encounter—Nakua joined forces with Hime. Nakua possesses the ability to summon large spiders and transform her head into spider legs. She now resides in a small shrine near Hime's mansion, built by Flandre and Francesca, and has stopped practicing human sacrifices, instead accepting offerings such as sweets made by Sawawa.
In the manga, the shrine at the mansion contains a stairway (in an alternate space) leading to a bridge Nakua is constructing to connect the human world with the world of Evil Gods, also known as the world of dreams. When Hime asks how much longer until the bridge is completed, Nakua smiles and says they are rushing toward the end, but it has nothing to do with Phoenixes.
