Najika Hiiragi is a distinguished perfumer for CRI Cosmetics, renowned for her ability to distinguish over 500 scents. At the start of the series, she is having difficulty completing "The Day Series," a collection of fragrances inspired by the days of the week, as she searches for the ideal scent for the final perfume, "Sunday." However, Najika has a secret identity as a field agent for CRI's Intelligence Bureau, an organization unknown to the public and even to most employees within CRI for their safety. She is a skilled markswoman, favoring the Stechkin APS, an old Russian firearm with selective fire capabilities (both automatic and semi-automatic) and a wooden holster that functions as a shoulder stock. The magazine holds twenty rounds of non-lethal plastic bullets. Additionally, Najika is an accomplished helicopter pilot, owning a custom-modified Mil Mi-35 Hind assault helicopter equipped with remote control and advanced avionics. Najika's first mission in the story involves retrieving a Humaritt (Humanoid Android) codenamed "ZZZ" and referred to as "Lila," who was intended to be the sex toy of a bisexual countess. Najika grows suspicious when CRI Intelligence is hired by Shinba Industrial to recover more lost and potentially rogue Humaritts, especially since many are in the hands of criminals, revolutionaries, guerrillas, or terrorist groups. Her suspicions deepen when Lila is assigned as her partner, despite Najika's insistence on continuing to work alone. Over time, however, Najika begins to trust Lila, even though Lila's lack of social skills often makes her cringe.
