kousaka mizuho

Kosaka Mizuho is a student at Saint Lucia Academy. She makes her first appearance in Utsutsukowashi-hen. One day, she witnesses a teacher dead in a swimming pool. Many of her classmates comment that she is always alone and does not open up to anyone. Yukari, the class representative, often bullies her; for instance, in the first chapter, Yukari takes her notebook, only for Sonozaki Shion to steal it back and return it to Mizuho. Over time, Mizuho develops a friendship with Shion. It is revealed in Chapter 3 of Utsutsukowashi-hen that when she was very young, Mizuho nearly became a victim of her grandmother's attempted murder, similar to what Shion experienced. Mizuho shares similarities with Ange Ushiromiya from 'Umineko No Naku Koro Ni'. Both are loners at Saint Lucia Academy and carry mysterious notebooks. They both face bullying from their classmates, particularly from the class representatives, who accuse them of lowering the class average with their poor grades.
