A 19-year-old student who has just discovered he failed his college entrance exam for the second time. He currently resides in Tokyo, devoid of close friends, feeling disheartened until he encounters Musubi. Musubi transforms his life when she selects him as her ashikabi (partner) and becomes a winged sekirei. Moreover, Minato learns that Musubi is a sekirei who must engage in battles with other sekireis within Tokyo. Now, Minato must keep this secret while navigating a new life with Musubi.

History
Little is known about Minato's past except that Matsu mentions he originally hails from Wakayama and was raised by an ordinary family. He excelled academically from elementary to high school.
Yukari also reveals that Minato always assisted her whenever she got lost in dark places like forests, even though he himself feared such places as a child. He frequently carried her out.

Personality
Minato is highly intelligent, capable of devising strategies to optimize the use of Sekirei abilities and executing plans to win Sekirei battles. Despite his talents, Minato initially lacks self-assurance and has a passive personality, often hesitant to challenge his own Sekirei when they make decisions.
