Megumi and Saki share an exceptionally close bond. Megumi has always been there for Saki, and upon discovering his sister's supernatural abilities, he decided to master the art of curses so that she wouldn't be the only "different" one in the family. Both siblings enjoy wearing black because it makes them feel "calm." He joined Saki in her struggles to ensure she wasn't alone. Ironically, Megumi's name means "blessing," while he focuses on learning how to curse others.
Megumi has never been depicted using his powers to curse anyone directly. When the Prince Yuki Fan Club tried to exploit Saki's weaknesses to weaken Tooru's defenses, Megumi helped scare them away with his dark demeanor and uncanny ability to guess their names. The next day, Saki mentioned that the girls would all be cursed within three days. While Megumi claimed he could do this if he had their names, the manga never reveals whether this actually happened, leaving it unclear if Saki was bluffing.
Like his sister, Megumi is highly mature for his age, not just intellectually and behaviorally but also in terms of sexual maturity. This is highlighted when Arisa comments on his visit to her restaurant, noting, "You really don't act like a middle schooler; more like a lecherous old man." (This interaction only occurs in the manga.) Megumi is often referred to as the trio's "bodyguard" and takes pride in protecting Arisa and his sister, going to great lengths to help them guard Tooru. He seems to admire Arisa greatly and is willing to do anything to assist her.
