The twelve-year-old protagonist of the series, Mayu, lives with her mother and younger brother. Her family owns and operates a café named Clover, though her father is only mentioned and never appears in the story. After consuming the seven-color drink, Mayu acquires the unique ability to transform. She harbors a long-standing crush on Shinya, unsure if he feels the same way about her. Only she can see Pucho due to the effects of the seven-color drink.
Mayu's romantic rival is Konoha, who frequently makes advances towards Shinya, causing Mayu to feel distressed. In the third volume, Mayu attempts to make Shinya jealous by dating Yuuki, which initially works, but Shinya doesn't reveal his true feelings, leaving Mayu upset. Due to Yuuki's kindness and affection, the seven-colored drink reappears, leading Mayu to believe she has fallen in love with him. However, Pucho explains that the color signifies "to be loved." Despite trying to reject Yuuki, Mayu finds it difficult because of his kindness. Recognizing her love for Shinya, Yuuki encourages her to pursue him. Mayu confesses her love again, and Shinya kisses her. By the end of the book, Mayu and Shinya get married.
