The main character, Masafumi Tamura, experiences prophetic dreams that predict future events with unwavering accuracy. These dreams have been a part of his life since childhood. Among the most unsettling dreams was one in which he foresaw himself discovering his own homosexuality. Following this dream, Tamura became resolutely determined to prove his heterosexuality. However, the recurring nature of this dream persisted through his junior high and into high school. To minimize the chances of having these dreams, Tamura avoided sleep as much as possible, dedicating his waking hours to studying. This transformation led him from being an outgoing child with average academic performance and a friendly personality to becoming a top student who took on additional responsibilities. He became known for his politeness but also for his stoic demeanor and awkwardness, making him somewhat difficult to approach. His peers labeled him as a "goody goody" kid. Tamura treats everyone with respect and has no real enemies. He is generally well-liked and enjoys helping others. Even his upperclassmen appreciate him. Despite his calm exterior, Tamura often feels overwhelmed by situations he dislikes, leading him to either panic or become extremely quiet and shy. His stubborn refusal to accept any inclination towards homosexuality is evident in his actions. In an effort to reaffirm his heterosexuality, Tamura went as far as reading pornographic material in public places, including during class. This behavior earned him a peculiar form of respect from his classmates, who were unaware of his prophetic dreams. Tamura's pride and stubbornness are central to the story. He has spent years trying to avoid acknowledging his sexuality, frustrating his family and friends who see his eventual acceptance as inevitable. Tamura's reluctance extends to avoiding Seiwa, not only because he doesn't want to be gay but also because he fears influencing Seiwa's sexuality. Eventually, Tamura realizes his genuine feelings for Seiwa, but he doesn't want to impose his emotions on him. Fortunately, Seiwa reciprocates Tamura's feelings. At the beginning of the story, Tamura lives with his parents and older sister. They are aware of his prophetic dreams and have long accepted his future as a gay individual, much to Tamura's frustration. He views their lack of concern as evidence of their naivety, referring to them as his "brainless family." By the age of 23, Tamura becomes a prominent computer programmer at IT Company.
