Uda, similar to Shinichi, is a human who experienced a Parasite merging with a part of his body other than his brain. Specifically, the Parasite embedded itself in the lower portion of his head. Initially nameless, Uda's Parasite later adopts the name Jaw. This Parasite exhibits brash and crude behavior, sometimes displaying a sense of humor, and occasionally takes control of Uda's mouth, causing it to contort into unusual shapes and forcing Uda to utter odd or inappropriate remarks. Despite befriending Shinichi and Migi, Uda and Jaw prefer to steer clear of conflicts with other Parasites.
Due to Uda's slightly overweight build and the location of his Parasite in the jaw area, physical confrontations tend to leave him breathless. However, because the Parasite can extend downward from the lower part of his head into his chest, it can protect his heart, which is often targeted in Parasite duels. Uda is generally a peace-loving and laid-back individual but becomes nervous under pressure and is prone to crying easily. He works as an employee at a hotel.
