Makoto is Megumi's closest female friend who serves as a mentor to help her transition into a typical girl. She instructs Megumi on feminine mannerisms and speech patterns unique to Japanese girls. This role was assigned to her due to her being the niece of Kei's doctor and her aspiration to become a counselor after high school.
Makoto is highly protective of Megumi, ensuring that no harm comes to her. Her strong personality allows her to command those around her effortlessly. She often leverages this trait to persuade her younger brother, Mikoto, into doing tasks for her benefit or his own.
Similar to Megumi, Makoto appears in the series "Princess Princess" as a minor character, maintaining her role as Mikoto's sister. In the "Princess Princess" manga, when Megumi confides in Makoto about her concerns regarding Mikoto's sexual orientation, Makoto advises her not to let him know. Initially, Megumi believes it's to avoid hurting his feelings, but Makoto clarifies that she doesn't want him to know how much Megumi loves him because it would make him happier.
