kashiwagi makoto

Makoto was brought up by her grandfather as a boy due to her having male genitalia. However, when puberty began, Makoto also started developing breasts and thus discovered she is a fertile and fully functional hermaphrodite. At the beginning of the manga, Makoto appears, when fully dressed, as a tall, beautiful girl, and she has taken on female mannerisms—though she still uses "boku" for "I," a term typically used only by boys and young men. Makoto possesses unusual strength and athleticism but is somewhat naive due to her sheltered upbringing. She is caught off guard when she first starts experiencing physical attraction to others, and her efforts to navigate her sexuality provide both humor and drama. She initiates romantic and sexual relationships with four different individuals throughout the story, but in the end, it seems she realizes her true attraction lies with Hiromi. By the very end of the story, it is implied that the two will enter into a relationship with each other. Near the conclusion of the manga, Makoto learns that she is half-alien. When an alien research spacecraft visited Earth, her mother had a relationship with one of the researchers—a member of a humanoid race that is naturally hermaphroditic. All of Makoto's unusual traits can apparently be attributed to her "sire."
