A renowned politician for whom Gin becomes the secretary, replacing Kirara. Despite his outwardly kind and caring demeanor, he is a womanizer who engages in affairs with other politicians' wives, only to blackmail them later. He seems to take a particular interest in Kirara. Although he already has a fiancée, Makoto is in love with a young girl named Ruriko, who is battling leukemia. He coerces Kirara into ending her relationship with Gin and becoming his lover, all in an effort to gain political leverage over Gin, with the ultimate goal of becoming Japan's prime minister. Because a compatible bone marrow donor for Ruriko is rare, once he achieves his position as prime minister, he plans to enact a law mandating bone marrow donation for everyone in Japan. In the final chapter of the main story, he appears before Kirara with his long hair cut short (something he vowed not to do until Ruriko was cured), announcing that he and Ruriko are to be married soon as a suitable donor has been found.
